Hi, I’m Nikki!

I have loved baking ever since I was a little girl. I used to sit and watch my mum baking and decorating cakes, making cookies and so many other things. I would have my own little kitchen and copy what she did, convinced that one day I would be as good as she was. My mum was a true inspiration to me and will always be. 

As I grew up, baking was a huge part of my life, I was always having a go at different things and coming up with new creations. Instead of following my dreams, my life took a huge detour. I went from office work to more office work, never feeling completely happy. I took some mummy time out when I had my two children which gave me the opportunity to get back into the kitchen. Baking with the children was hysterical and I realised then what a perfectionist I actually was. Kids + cake mixture + perfectionist = stress!

My detour didn’t stop there, I qualified as a Teacher  and found a job that I loved. The thing is with teachers…they love cake! I spent a lot of my spare time, treating us all with cakes, bakes and treats. It was at that point that Slice of Heaven became my reality.
